The thesis presents a structured workflow for high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) therapy planning, focusing on maximizing the sonication area while safeguarding healthy tissue. It introduces a method to decouple complex subproblems, emphasizing the importance of a maximally opened double cone for effective energy transfer to tumor tissue. To facilitate future simulations, a short-cut model is developed to efficiently determine temperature distribution at focal points, utilizing the heat equation solved by Green's functions to streamline the computational process.
