'Just Socks', a true story within a modern-day story, tells and shows with vivid illustrations the experiences of an early nineteenth-century homesteader, lumberjack and WW1, Vimy Ridge soldier. It is a great book for young people and elders to share on Remembrance Day, at Christmastime... or any time. The protagonist is not impressed with his meager gift of just socks from his grandfather, but after hearing the story from his Papa, he may have a change of heart.
