Meer over het boek
This book discusses the image of the Jew in Thomas Mann's stories. It is a continuation of the author's previous work on the image of the Jew in Mann's novels and it covers a period in Mann's writing career not included in the previous work. What did the young Thomas Mann think of and how did he feel about the presence of Jews in German society? The answer is found in an examination of the short-stories The Will for Happiness (1896), Gladius Dei (1902), Tristan (1903), and The Blood of the Walsungs (1905). (Series: German Studies / Germanistik - Vol. 40)
