Eleni Pappa Tsantilis, born in Greece in 1962 and currently residing in Switzerland, creates art using oil and acrylics, incorporating natural pigments and organic materials like paper, textile, sand, and sawdust. This approach adds depth and complexity to her paintings. She employs various tools, including brushes, knives, handmade squeegees, sponges, and her hands, to layer colors. By dragging and scraping wet or dry paint, she leaves unique marks that contribute to a “used” effect, narrating the story of each piece. The interplay of material, color, and composition presents a constant challenge to innovate. Creativity and curiosity have always driven her artistic expression, inspired by encounters, visuals, and experiences from home and travel. Her works are held in private collections worldwide. Notable exhibitions include the Contemporary Art Fair in Zurich (2017, 2016), The ArtBox Project at Euroairport Basel (2017), St’art Strasbourg (2015), and an international exposition in Innsbruck (2015). She also held a solo exhibition in Munster, France (2014), and participated in a collective exhibition in Zurich (2014).
