Journalist Robin Hyde struggled with drug addiction resulting from a botched operation, depresssion and single motherhood twice over. All before she was 30. As a voluntary patient in a residential clinic, she produced a book of poems, a collection of short stories, major novels and several manuscripts of autobiographical writings, some written as part of her therapy.
