Focusing on the portrayal of male characters in Australian women's novels from 1998 to 2002, this study examines the themes of damaged masculinity and the female gaze. It highlights how these narratives reveal the complexities of male bodies and challenge traditional patriarchal views. The interactions between male corporeality and female perspectives are analyzed within the context of contemporary feminist and masculinity discourses, offering insights into the evolving discussions around gender and representation.
