The Phoenix Within is a documentation of all the shitty things that happened in my life as a teacher, in my marriage, and around the country during the global pandemic. It's poetic and painful. Real and unrefined. It's a love story that could've gone awry. It's a peek into the lives of educators and human beings, hurting and hoping during one of the most traumatic periods in history. This book is a reminder that it's okay to be exactly where you're at, it's okay to let people know how you really are and ask for help if you need it. It's okay to express your wants and needs, your greatest fears and deepest desires. It's okay to admit when you're wrong; to ask for forgiveness and more importantly, allow yourself to be forgiven. "From the lowest of lows and highest of highs; Hear the roar of my triumphant battle cries. Rise spirit rise." May you rise when you're ready to discover the phoenix within.
