This publication describes and analyses the national policies for the internationalisation of higher education in seven European countries (Austria, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, and the UK), as well as the European Union's higher education policies. The study, which was funded by the European Commission's Research Directorate is the first publication to take an in-depth look into this theme again, after ACAs National Policies for Internationalisation in Europe (1997). The book depicts in detail, the shift from the logic of international cooperation to that of competition. - [publisher]
