'When the white becomes a touch less white/When the white becomes tenminutes less white/ When the white does what the light knows . . .' If ever anartist has made light and time visible, it is Vienna-born Inge Dick, in the amazingphotographic images she has been generating since the 1980s. Influenced by and moving beyond the minimalist and color-field painters of the mid-20th century, Dick used huge long-exposure Polaroids to capture infinitesimally subtle changes in light such as the coming of dawn.
