This book offers comprehensive instructions for casting the obi oracle within the Santería faith, utilizing a coconut shell that embodies the spirit of Obí as a divination tool. It includes a detailed “mojuba” or prayer to awaken the orishas and invite their guidance. The text delves into the five fundamental patterns that arise during an obí casting and provides insights on interpreting the oracle's responses. Additionally, it explores fifty further patterns and meanings associated with ten orishas linked to Obí. Obí, once a mortal who became an orisha for his virtuous deeds, later fell from grace due to pride and was embodied in the coconut palm. Although he lacks a physical voice, he communicates through the patterns formed by four coconut shell pieces cast during divination. This work is the first to thoroughly investigate the lore surrounding Obí, detailing rituals and customs such as the initial considerations, the casting and interpretation of the oracle, and advanced divination techniques. It also reveals previously unpublished methods for properly closing the oracle, ensuring that any negative energies are absorbed by the coconuts and eliminated from the diviner's space.
