Artists’ book by painter, sculptor and performer Lubo Kristek with texts of German historians Sonia Fischer and Hartfrid Neunzert, Czech art historian and anthropologist Barbora Půtová and others. Each book has an individual stone found by Kristek in immediate proximity of his studio in Podhradi nad Dyji and inserted into the book cover. This book offers a wealth of archival material since the 1940s until present – Kristek’s surreal and avant-garde starting points, his German period, artworks in public and sacral space, wanderings around world, the Chateau Lubo in Podhradi nad Dyjí, the Kristek House in Brno … It also brings documentation of Kristek’s legendary happenings, his symbology and critical assemblages.
