Lieutenant Hadar Goldin was a commander in an elite reconnaissance unit of the IDF. He was killed in Gaza tunnels by Hamas operatives; his body has yet to be returned for burial. While on active duty, Hadar studied Mesilat Yesharim (Path of the Righteous), the work of mussar by the 18th century thinker the 'Ramhal' (Rabbi Moshe Haim Luzzato). Hadar was even carrying a tiny copy of the work under his uniform when he was killed. He wrote these notes during his time at the pre-military academy and while serving in combat.
