In the two and a half years since her husband Blake had disappeared in the South American jungle, presumed dead, Dina had managed to come to terms with the situation. In the circumstances, therefore, it was at once unbelievable and unfortunate that Blake should make a dramatic reappearance, safe and well, just as she had become engaged to his best friend Chet. So now Dina had to get used to being married to Blake all over again. But Blake had left Rhode Island a civilised man, but had come back part primitive after his grim experiences.
