When someone uses a gun to get what they want, how do you stop them? If you give them what they want, they will be pleased—but they may also demand more. If you refuse to hand over what they seek, you risk angering them—they might kill you, and it's hard to know what to do. In this story, the one facing this dilemma is the Prime Minister, a head of government. But the Prime Minister is also an ordinary person like us—with a family and children. If someone is pointing a gun at your loved ones, how can you keep a clear head? What should you do? You take advice from others, engage in dialogue with the hijackers to understand what they want, do your best to keep everyone calm, and take action slowly. But the terrorists are not willing to wait; sooner or later, you must decide what to do.
