We take pride in 24 gastronomical regions, each offering its specific culinary experience. The relationship between the young and older generations is also a field for culinary arts and can be a bond that revives the area. Slovenia stands alongside the world’s most renowned cuisines, as its geographical and climate diversity offers an exceptionally rich variety of distinct and tasty dishes. Children in Slovenian elementary schools have been entrusted with the important task of reviving the forgotten cultural culinary heritage on today’s menus. They explored the kitchens of their grandmothers, relatives, and neighbors. This is a story about Slovenian heritage, the gastronomic diversity of villages and towns, and their culture of eating as it used to be. It reflects on poverty on the plates in times without refrigerators and the origins of the dishes that still belong today. This is a tasty journey through Slovene regions, their culinary features, cultural history, occasions of dining, and anecdotes from human traditions, raised by children through intergenerational communication.
