Prominent buildings continue to rise in Berlin’s center. Last year’s highlights include works by Jean Nouvel, Mathias Ungers, Ieoh Ming Pei, Dominique Perrault, Josef Paul Kleihues and many more. The 1997 volume documents, among others, the work of Renzo Piano and Arata Isozaki at the bow of Potsdamer Platz, Daniel Libeskind’s Jewish Museum, Sir Norman Foster’s new dome for the Reichstag and the completed city complexes of Philip Johnson and Aldo Rossi.
