Overview Mother Hare watches as Little Hare settles down to sleep. For his blanket he has the sky and for his bed he has the soft hay. Mole warns Mother Hare that the farmer will cut the hay at dawn, so she must find another bed for her baby. As she searches the countryside for a safe place, Mother Hare is warned by her friends of its many dangers. When dawn breaks at last, Mother Hare is in despair.
