This text describes the deeply entrenched biological and cultural forces that lead Americans to over-eat and become physically inactive, and outlines creative, innovative and controversial solutions to the problem. better than its people, that targets poorer people as a market for high-calorie, low-nutrient junk food, and that allows children to be manipulated into eating poor diets through toy giveaways and in-school promotions; a call to action for social and policy change; and a workable plan to improve individual health and that of one's family with recommendations and controversial stances.
