Two Jewish intellectuals, one living in Israel, the other in the U.S., discuss various subjects relating to the persistent image of the Jew as victim. The subjects include the Vatican's relationship with the Jews (using as a starting point the Vatican's "Guidelines and Suggestions for Implementing the Conciliar Declaration" Nostra Aetate", 1974), the Passion Play in Oberammergau, the competition between Jews and Arabs concerning the status of victim in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, anti-Zionism and the European New Left, and Jewish self-hatred.
