Meer over het boek

This book serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it aims to make social science researchers more aware of the substantive implications of various aspects of the measuring process in social science research. Secondly, the book is also intended as a tribute to Jaak Billiet on the conclusion of his outstanding research career at the K.U.Leuven. In the book, over 40 international scientists reflect on themes associated with this research: pillarisation, preference for the extreme right, measuring and explaining ethnocentrism, the validity and reliability of measurement instruments, methodological research into the quality of survey data with particular attention to non-response and the methodology of comperative research. Many articles emphasise the importance of the interaction between methodology and substantive results of social science research.
