This is a collection of articles on the poetics of composition by Boris Uspenskii (b. 1937), a leading Russian philologist and medievalist. Most of these works are considered classic in the field of structural and semiotic studies (1995,1996). Also included are articles on the poetry of V. Khlebnikov and O. Mandel'shtam.
