Nordic Talking unites projects from the last 4 1/2 years in the individual fields of work of the Institute for Experimental Architecture and Building Construction of the University of Innsbruck in Tyrol. The focal points comprise design, building construction, thesis work, competitions and project realization. The heads of the institute during this period were Professor Kjetil Thorsen (Snohetta Architects, Oslo) and Professor Patrick Schumacher (Zaha Hadid architects, London). At the institute, architecture is considered a cultural-scientific subject in which research can be a creative, applied process. Gathering direct experience with the realization of a project is one of the main points at the institute, along with experimental design and building construction research. Visiting professors make it possible for students to create a worldwide network and have contact with a variety of educational institutions and fields of work. The book documents the best work and expands it with texts and contributions by world-famous architects and theorists.
