Meer over het boek

Since 2005, Con-solatio has provided young adults with the chance to serve as volunteer missionaries in some of the world’s most troubled regions, dedicating a year to fostering friendships with those burdened by loneliness and sorrow. This collection features excerpts from the heartfelt letters of Con-solatio volunteers, showcasing transformative relationships that highlight the healing power of simply being present. The narratives take readers to diverse locations across Africa, the Americas, Asia, and Europe, revealing the profound impact of Christian love in action during the darkest moments faced by the poorest communities. Volunteers experience a deep spirituality, embodying the love of Christ through their service. As they engage with those they serve, volunteers encounter Christ in unexpected ways—through the voices of street children and the eyes of the abandoned. The stories reveal how His wisdom and mercy flow through the generosity of the marginalized. This compilation unveils the hearts and minds of young volunteers, filled with faith, friendship, zeal, and self-discovery. Each contributor has found beauty in their friendship with Christ and those He sends them to serve, offering a powerful testament to the mission of Con-solatio.
