Meer over het boek
Very Short Stories is the first book of "Gul Ozseven", a Turkish woman poet who writes poems in English. Most of the poems are commentaries on the everyday life. In the poems, the tone is witty and sad; other poems could be described as a truly compelling and exciting memoir of the lyrical poet. Some of the events and places are imaginary, giving the book a fairytale look. Once you zoom in, you enter a unique world of passion, compassion, surprise and happiness. If the poems aren't always happy, it's because life isn't; except in some cases, they are larger than life. Very imaginative and engaging, Gul Ozseven invites us to her unique magical land.
