Questions of Identity

Meer over het boek

What does "European" mean? European identity has long been hotly debated and a cause of deep division both in political parties and in Britain at large. This book brings together powerful and cutting edge contributions from all sides of the debate over the past three decades from academics, journalists, business people, and politicians. Contributors include Margaret Thatcher and Eddie George. While concentrating on the question of identity, it takes a broad view on such issues as culture, monetary union, East-West rapprochement, and the role of the EU in the globalized world. This is an essential book for all those who wish to be informed about one of the most important issues of our time--a matter which affects us all.
