The National Trust Guide to the Traditional Customs of Britain

Meer over het boek

This book gives a first-hand account of over 150 traditional customs and ceremonies enacted in Britain throughout the year. Brian Shual explains how much such events mean to the people who take part in them. The author, recognized both within and outside the folk world as the leading photographer of traditional customs, has visited and photographed most of the events described, has interviewed hundreds of participants and fully researched the background of these customs. A comprehensive calendar of events lists over 300 customs in Britain with details and advice on times and locations, particularly for those which are of special local importance.
