Der Prototyp der weltbekannten Mumin-Comics erstmals in deutscher Sprache Mumins sind sympathische Trolle, die im Mumintal zu Hause sind, Winterschlaf halten und jedes Jahr neue Abenteuer zu bestehen haben. Sie sind außerordentlich warmherzige und liebevolle Wesen. Erfinderin der Mumins ist die finnische Schriftstellerin und Zeichnerin Tove Jansson (1914-2001), die für ihr Werk mit dem Hans-Christian-Andersen-Preis ausgezeichnet wurde, der bedeutendsten Auszeichnung für Kinderbuchautoren und –illustratoren. Bereits 1947 entstand der erste Mumin-Comic mit dem Titel (Der) „Mumintroll und der Weltuntergang“, der als Prototyp für die späteren Mumin-Comics gelten kann.
