Dieses Lehrbuch führt praxisorientiert in die Grundlagen, Techniken und Anwendungsmöglichkeiten der deskriptiven Statistik ein. Es geht auf die deskriptiven Basismethoden der univariaten und bivariaten Verfahren ein, die mit Hilfe computerbasierter Berechnungen auf betriebswirtschaftliche Beispiele angewendet werden. Die Inhalte reichen von der Erhebung und Skalierung, über die Präsentation und univariate Analyse quantitativer Daten, bis zur Analyse bivariater Zusammenhänge. Damit sind alle wichtigen Aspekte einer Lehrveranstaltung zur deskriptiven Statistik abgedeckt. Auf die Verwendung mathematischer Darstellungen und Herleitungen wird zugunsten einer „intuitiven“ Herangehensweise weitgehend verzichtet.
