Chronic kidney disease is a global major health issue that ultimately leads to end-stage renal disease, a devastating condition requiring costly renal replacement therapy. Currently, primary glomerulonephritis is the leading cause of chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease in China and many other countries.
