As the weather begins to warm up, Ren helps Yuzu pick out her very first kimono. Hier erleben die Bewohner allerlei Abenteuer und verzaubern in ihrer Form als Mädchen mit Fuchsöhrchen ihre Besucher mit Freundschaft und Magie! Eine bezaubernde und hinreißende Geschichte!

Nachdem Yuzu das Konohanatei verlassen hat, müssen Kiri und Satsuki sich allein um die Gäste kümmern. Dabei haben die beiden sich so sehr an Yuzus Hilfe gewöhnt, dass sie das Arbeitspensum ohne die erfahrene Geisha Yae kaum bewältigen können. Auch Momos Schwester Azusa hat es als angehende Miko nicht leicht, denn ihre Vorgesetzten nehmen sie von allen besonders hart ran.

Yuzu und Satsuki reisen mit der Takamagahara-Eisenbahn durch die Wolken. Der Schaffner erklärt, dass die Dampflok überallhin fährt, solang man mit einer klaren Absicht an den Ort gelangen möchte. Auf ihrer Reise erwarten sie viele Begegnungen. Sie treffen eine alte Dame, die zu ihrem lange verschollenen Mann reist, und Honoka, die ihren Weg nach Hause nicht mehr findet. Währenddessen leidet das Konohanatei unter Personalmangel, doch mit der Hilfe ehemaliger Kolleginnen meistern sie die Hauptsaison. Sie vermissen die zwei verreisten Füchse.

Als Yaes Pakt mit der Gottheit Dakini in Kraft tritt, weicht Kiri ihr nicht von der Seite. Für Natsumes Nichte Karin beginnt mit der Ausbildung zur Miko im Inari-Schrein auch eine unerwartete Freundschaft. Die Neuigkeit, dass Hiragi ihre Tätigkeit als oberste Miko niederlegt, wirft deren Schwester Satsuki völlig aus der Bahn. Davon angetrieben wächst in ihr der Wunsch, sich selbst zu finden …

Eine Auszeit am Strand, ein pubertierendes Mädchen als Gast im Konohanatei und der Einkauf eines neuen Kimonos für Yuzu sorgen für Wirbel im Gasthaus. Als dann auch noch ein weiteres Kapitel aus Kirs Vergangenheit enthüllt wird, zeigts sich, vor welch schwere Entscheidung Yae gestellt wird ...

Aufgrund eines spontanen Regenschauers müssen Yuzu und Kiri ihre Erledigungen außerhalb des Konohanateis unterbrechen. Sie begeben sich in ein kleines Café, das seinen Gästen als Ort der Ruhe dient. Hier erfährt Yuzu, dass Kiris Start im Konohanatei alles andere als einfach war.

Während ihrer Zeit bei der werten Bhikkhuni gelangt Yuzu zu wertvollen Einsichten. Wird sie sich entscheiden, ins Konohanatei zurückzukehren? Unterdessen steht Botan beim Blütenfest unerwarteten Schwierigkeiten gegenüber, als sie einen Tanz aufführen soll, von dem sie noch nie etwas gehört hat.

Im Konohanatei entfesseln Yuzu, Satsuki und die anderen versehentlich böse Mächte, die in einem Krug gefangen waren. Bei ihrer Ausbildung zur Miko treibt Momo mit ihrem Eigensinn die Ausbilderinnen in den Wahnsinn. Und Kiri erkennt, dass sie nicht länger vor ihrer Vergangenheit und ihrer Familie fortlaufen kann.
