An out-of-work actor in New York is not anything worth writing about. But a dead one, riding on a Hudson River ferryboat, has reporter Ed Fitz Fitzgerald's curiosity aroused. And even though Fitz's editor has other plans for him, Fitz is determined to cover a story bigger than Broadway.
