Zbytky Impéria, vedené krutým vojevůdcem Shadowspawna a jeho vojáky v černé zbroji, provádějí záškodnické útoky na planetách Nové republiky. Tato frakce, operující z planetární základny na Mindoru, vyvolává obavy o návrat Impéria a temnoty. Generál Luke Skywalker se rozhodne, že nedopustí návrat sithského útlaku. Spolu s Hanem, Leou, C-3PO, R2-D2 a Chewbaccou mobilizují eskadru Rogue, aby se postavili této hrozbě. Nicméně, plánovaný útok na Mindor hraje do karet jejich nepříteli.
