Un jeune paysan est retrouvé bâillonné, étranglé et crucifié. Le procès du 20 avril 1883 se clôt par l'acquittement des accusés, la soeur et le beau-frère de la victime. Le récit de ce crime constitue la trame du Crucifié de Kéralies, un roman régionaliste, dur et réaliste.
