Ten ji však nechce a tak rodina, která nechce poškodit svou pověst, svede všechno na ubohého Ponse. Přestanou jej přijímat a Pons onemocní. Jediný, kdo se o něj stará, je Schmucke. Když se však rozšíří, že jeho sbírka má ohromnou cenu, začnou se do jeho přízně vplétat různí lidé a snaží se urvat aspoň kousek z dědictví. Pons chce však všechno odkázat Schmuckemu. Všichni kromě něj ho totiž potají okrádají nebo se o to aspoň snaží...
