Ze was medeoprichter van het tijdschrift Nouvelles questions féministes (Nieuwe feministische kwesties) met Simone de Beauvoir in 1977. Haar werk analyseert kritisch patriarchale structuren en hun impact op de samenleving en cultuur. Door middel van haar theoretische geschriften en activisme pleit ze voor een dieper begrip en de eliminatie van ongelijkheden.
