Emmi Smid is een illustrator en auteur van kinderboeken, woonachtig en werkzaam in Nederland. Emmi gelooft dat prentenboeken het perfecte middel zijn om jonge kinderen kennis te laten maken met moeilijke, diepgaande onderwerpen, zonder dat het voelt alsof er tegen hen gepredikt wordt. Daarom ontwerpt Emmi graag prentenboeken die sociale taboes aansnijden en actuele wereldwijde thema's belichten.
