It is said that if you can't draw well you can't paint well. I am one who believes that to be true. Also, a good drawing often overshadows a lesser colored painting. I have taught drawing for 26 years at a highly recognized college illustration program and I have sketched in 56 countries. This book shows some of those drawings in a variety of approaches and several different tools. Pencil, ink, colored pencils, etc. Some of these were done on location while sitting on a bench, stair, rock wall or any spot available. And some under a roof's overhanging shelter from the drizzle of rain, others done in the comfort of my studio from rough sketches, studies or photos, or earlier sketches.
