Lorena Alvarez is een kunstenares en illustrator wiens werk diep geworteld is in haar opvoeding in Bogotá. Haar kenmerkende visuele stijl siert zowel kinderboeken, onafhankelijke publicaties als modemagazines. Naast haar individuele bijdragen is Alvarez een integraal onderdeel van het experimentele poppenspelcollectief La Procesión Puppet Club, waar ze samenwerkt met andere illustratoren en beeldende kunstenaars om innovatieve creatieve projecten te smeden.
