En los mares del norte de Escocia reina una sirena a la que todos temen menos Eric. Sus nietos, Anna y Jon, quieren mucho a su abuelo. La sirena se venga de Eric y de todos los habitantes de la aldea y Eric tiene que irse del pueblo. Se enrola en un barco y desde los lugares más remotos envía regalos a la familia.
