How is the one gospel related to the many culture of the world? This question, debated within the ecumenical movement from the outset, was the focus of the WCCs 1996 World Conference on mission and evangelism. Highlighting West African efforts to express the gospel in an authentically African way, this pamphlet proposes three guidelines for the gospel and culture debate: its should be biblical, apostolic and catholic.
