Tento systém však není pouze prostorem vyloučení, ale také problematizace, kde se shromažďují lidé ovlivnění ústavními režimy. Tito lidé si uvědomují, že postižení, které je odsuzuje k životu v ústavech, není jedinou verzí postižení. Kniha nabízí etnografický popis ústavního světa a zkoumá socio-materiální uspořádání, které tento systém udržuje. Současně přináší naději na změnu, představující pragmatickou vizi postižené veřejnosti jako otevřeného společenství, kde je vyloučení nahrazeno sdílenou zasažeností a kreativní nevědomostí v přístupu k postižení. Michal Synek, religionista a sociolog, zkoumá vztahy mezi péčí a uspořádáním postižení, zatímco Dana Hradcová, vyučující na Fakultě humanitních studií, se zaměřuje na život s dis/abilitou a empirickou etiku v sociálních službách.

Nothing seems to be happening, so the Five Find-outers have great fun in creating their own mystery, with stories of robbers and kidnappers and the lights that flash at night on Christmass hill. But suddenly, most thrillingly, their pretend mystery turns into a real one.
