Dass ich wo es nur anging die Erklärungen nur mit den lateinischen Worten des Originals gegeben habe, wird hoffentlich keinen Tadel erfahren, zumal wenn man bedenkt, wie oft bei unseren althochdeutschen Übersetzungen lediglich das lateinische Textwort ohne Rücksicht auf den Sinn der Stelle für die Wahl des deutschen Ausdrucks massgebend war. Ausführlichere Erklärungen sind nur ganz vereinzelt eingestreut: in weitaus den meisten Fällen wird der lateinische Originaltext auch dem minder Geübten das Verständnis leicht machen." Dieses Buch über Tatian ist ein unveränderter Nachdruck der Originalausgabe von 1872.
