Kniha obsahuje list postavy, kam během čtení zaznamenáte čas, zranění, získané předměty a nakonec i vítězné body. Stručně lze čtení/hru komiksového gamebooku popsat tak, že následujete jednotlivé obrázky v knize. Obrázky obsahují stopy, hádanky a pasti a vy se musíte rozhodnout kam a jak budete pokračovat.
