James More-Molyneux inherited the estate in 1946, and here describes the excitement and hard work of running it, developing a variety of enterprises from timber-framed houses to cottage cheese, ice-cream and yoghurt. Today the house and garden are open to the public, and a Christian Cancer Help Centre is based there.
