Autorčino dílo je v něm prezentováno v širším kontextu jejích aktivit (skupina Devětsil, československá surrealistická skupina, pařížská surrealistická skupina), v pěti chronologických oddílech, pojmenovaných podle stěžejního díla daného období: Korálové ostrovy, Magnetová žena, Schovej se, válko!, Všechny živly, Nový milostný svět. Každý oddíl zahajuje podrobná biografie, která dokládá, nakolik je její rozmanité dílo úzce propojené s jednotlivými životními etapami.
