Bylo by proto užitečné pohlédnout na tuto velkou postavu církevních dějin s novou otevřeností a bez neopodstatněných předsudků. Snad by k tomu mohl přispět i tento krátký nástin života Jana Kalvína, církevního reformátora, který byl v českém jazyce dosud poněkud opomíjen.
