By the time of his death from AIDS at the age of 31, Keith Haring (1958-1990) was already a wildly successful and popular artist. Haring's original and instantly recognizable style, full of thick black lines, bold colors, and graffiti-inspired cartoon-like figures, won him the appreciation of both the art world and the general public; his work appeared simultaneously on T-shirts, gallery walls, and public murals. In 1986, Haring founded Pop Shop, a boutique in New York's SoHo selling Haring-designed memorabilia, to benefit charities and help bring his work closer to the public and especially street kids, with whom he never lost contact.

150 years of Bayer AG – this anniversary provides a reason for presenting to the general public the exclusive collection of the global concern in the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin. It is a collection whose beginnings can be traced back to the founders of the company during the nineteenth century, and which today includes more than 2,000 works by famous artists. Its main focus lies in the fields of German Expressionism and Classical Modernism, the École de Paris and Art Informel. Numerous works by young German artists have also been afforded a place in the collection. The accompanying book brings together 240 works by 95 artists, including famous names like Max Beckmann, Georges Braque, Gerhard Richter, Ernst-Wilhelm Nay, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso, Sam Francis and Andy Warhol. A real discovery!

Monografie Keitha Haringa, jednoho z nejvýznačnějších malířů 80. let. Filozofie jeho tvorby byla jednoduchá: zpřístupnit umění všem. Miloval graffiti i své nadšené publikum a před ním tvořil v newyorském metru i na ulicích. Jeho obrazy jsou plné veselých stylizovaných postav lidských i zvířecích, které tancují po ploše obrazu v divokých tancích.
