Stanisław Szukalski Boeken

    Stanisław Szukalski was een Poolse beeldhouwer en schilder die deel ging uitmaken van de Chicago Renaissance. In het Polen van de jaren '30 genoot hij faam als nationalistisch beeldhouwer. Hij ontwikkelde ook de pseudowetenschappelijk-historische theorie van het Zermatismo, die stelde dat alle menselijke cultuur afkomstig was van Paaseiland na de zondvloed en dat de mensheid gevangen zat in een eeuwige strijd met de Zonen van Yeti ("Yetinsyny"), de nakomelingen van Yeti en mensen.

      An overview of the art of Stanislav Szukalski. Szukalski (1893-1987) was one of the great sculptors of the 20th Century. Due to geopolitical upheavals in his native land, Poland, a large proportion of his work was destroyed. Yet thanks to the efforts of a group of dedicated art patrons, art critics, and personal acquaintances, the work of Szukalski is being rediscovered. This is the first critical view of his work published since 1923, and contains writings, drawings, and photographs of his sculpture.
