Annette Lep was een gevierde ontwerpster van borduur- en textielkunstpatronen, wiens werk verscheen in publicaties van grote tijdschriften en uitgevers. Als medeoprichter van een kunsthandel in Pittsburgh was ze een vroege pleitbezorger van lokale kunstenaars, wat aanzienlijk bijdroeg aan hun erkenning. Ze bezat en beheerde ook een levendige winkel met boeken, handwerk en kunst in New Hampshire.
