This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 6th East European Conference on Advances in Databases and Information Systems ADBIS 2002, held in Bratislava, Slovakia in September 2002. The 25 revised full papers and 4 short papers presented together with 3 invited papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 115 submissions. The papers are organized in topical sections on data mining and knowledge discovery, mobile databases, spatiotemporal and spatial databases, multidimensional databases and information systems, object-oriented and deductive databases, data modeling and workfows, Web databases and semistructured data, and advanced systems and applications.

Perspektivy riešenia úloh nenumerického charakteru a umelej inteligencie vyžadujú znalosť najpoužívanejšieho a najznámejšieho programovacieho jazyka vyššej úrovne v tejto oblasti - lispu. Autori podávajú metodicky ucelenú publikáciu pre všetkých záujemcov o programovanie v tomto jazyku, ktorá doplní ťažšie dostupnú inojazyčnú literatúru.V prvej kapitole sú predstavené funkcie a programy, v druhej kapitole sú čitateľovi vysvetlené základné pojmy týkajúce sa symbolických údajov. Prvky jazyka lisp sú uvedené v tretej kapitole, ktorá je vlastne ťažiskom celej knihy. Vo štvrtej kapitole sú bližšie opísané jazyky lisp 1.5, Comon lisp a Standard lisp a podrobnejšie je ukázaná práca interpretu jazyka. Piata kapitola je venovaná riešeniu lispovských úloh. V šiestej kapitole sú výsledky vybraných úloh a cvičení.Celá kniha je bohato doplnená prikladmi, ktoré velmi pomáhajú pri pochopení tohto funkcionálného jazyka.Kniha je určená programátorom, výskumným pracovníkom, ako aj študentom vysokých a stredných škol zameraných na výpočtovú techniku.
